The Sugar Bowl challenge 18, Kathy's sketch

The Summer Holidays are over, as well as the beautiful weather we have had.... it really feels like Autumn and the kids are collecting chestnuts again from the old tree in the garden..... so I felt like sitting inside with a nice cup of coffee (or 2 LOL), some music and... craft!

I coloured this lovely Nellie with hat and scarf and used it for the Sugar Bowl Challenge Kathy's sketch. The please include option is buttons. I used Basic Grey Wassail papers - love them!.

Here she is:

and the inside of the card:

What I've used:

Stamps: Sugar Nellie, Nellie with hat and scarf & Xmax pudding - Kitty de Wolf
Papers: kraft + paper pad Basic Grey Wassail
Ribbon, buttons from stack

Have a nice weekend &

1st Xmas card: Such a cute girl

There are days when I wish I'd have more copic markers, a cuttlebug with nestabilities, more border and corner punches etc etc.... and there are days I'm just happy with the stuff I do have. Today is very much a content day. My new stamp from Pink Gem Designs arrived yesterday and I think the image is darn cute! What more do you really need? So I made this card this morning and I loooooved colouring her. Here it is:

It's my first X-mas card for this year. I love X-mas stamps. Will try to make a variety of cards, but I guess this lovely girl will play a leading role..... LOL!

I will join the Stamp with fun challenge. They would like to see pearls. I have used 5. Like them a lot.

Wishing You - Many Happy Returns

This Whiff of Joy stamp from the Summer Stamp Kit is such a joy to colour. I felt like colouring this image yesterday evening without a specific colour scheme or purpose in mind.... and it turned out purple & blue/green. So today I grabbed the last pieces of Basic Grey's Lemonade line - again! I promise to use other papers next time. You will probably be bored...... LOL.
The overlays are also BG's and I cut some pieces off to make it work for the card. The rub-ons are from s.e.i.

I realize I should have taken a pic of the inside of the card. It says: MANY HAPPY RETURNS.

Card for a new born Baby Girl!

Do you know what I mean when I say there's some special kind of atmosphere in a home when a new baby is born? That's what we felt this morning, when we collected a friend of DS#2 to come over to play. His mother gave birth to her 3rd child 4 days ago. The boys wanted to play together and I figured his mom could do with a couple of quiet hours :)

The baby girl is just adorable..... and while the kids were playing I made this card. It was a bit hard to concentrate 'cos I joined them in some boardgames and we had a picknick, BUT, I managed to finish it off in time. Bought a pair of cute little socks to go in the card and gave it when we took the boy home. Love making small gifts!

Inky Impressions 2nd Design Team Call

I know it's rather ambitious...... applying for a DT position while I'm crafting with stamps for only a couple of months.... but hey, have you seen the stamps of Inky Impressions? Check them out here! I stumbled upon their DT call yesterday and can't stop thinking about it since.....

So I decided to be brave and put in my application!

One of my fav cards will be this one:

Or perhaps this one:

And the one and only project I used stamps for, so far, is the set of bookmarks I made. Love those girls:

Well, only thing left for me to do now is keeping my fingers crossed.....

Good luck to all other applicants &

***

Joined a sketch challenge Double Dutch Challenges and made this card yesterday. All stuff is from Basic Grey's Lemonade Line - love that stuff!!

Received an award!

What a nice surprise. Margreet sent me this lovely blog award!

Now it's up to me to honour just 1 person with it whose blog I like and regularly visit. Well, it took some time to decide 'cos I wanted to pass this award on to 2 others, but that's not allowed. So....... drumrufles..... I would like to give this lovely award to:

JULS with her blog: http://theglitterchick.blogspot.com/

Juls makes gorgeous cards in all sorts of styles. Just fab! So Juls, this one is for you :)

The following 'rules' are applicable for this award:

1) forward this award to one person only
2) state why you give this award to that person's blog
3) have you been given this award for the 2nd time, no 1 and 2 are applicable again
4) mention the rules when passing on this award

PS: just read that Juls received another award as well..... well Jules, it's your day today LOL!!!

************ Monique's Lift-it challenge at Scrappinkids

My very talented friend Monique is hosting a lift-it challenge over at Scrappinkids. Go check it out! The idea is to choose one of the DT member's layouts and lift it. There are so many great layouts..... I chose one of Monique herself!

I love that it's so different, so unique and the delicate colours are fab! I decided to do something totally different and and this is my page:

The pics were taken last Saturday when DH came home from a business trip. The boys look a bit tired but the moment was very precious. They always want to sit close to him when he's back!

************ the Sugar Bowl challenge 15

This is my take on Gayle's sketch for the Sugar Bowl challenge. The please include option is ribbons and bows. The papers are all from Basic Grey's Lemonade line. The lovely Luca and Nelly stamp was a gift (thanks!) and I think they make a perfect couple for my card as I made it for friends of by Mom's. They celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next week and they are so sweet and thoughtful - they always come around when we have something special going on in our lives like when we moved house or when the boys were born, so I want to bring them a huge bunch of flowers to go with this card.

************ Little Shop of Sketches No 41

Yesterday I visited Scrapbook Nederland in Voorburg and bought some lovely Basic Grey stuff from the Lemonade line.
I used it for this fortnight's sketch challenge on Little Shop of Sketches, go check it out here!

I used photos from our holiday in May. We went to France and had a great time. I decided to make an overall impression without pictures of us and the people we went with.... so I guess I will make another page or two :)

This is how my take on the sketch turned out:

Looking at it I looooove to go back there.

************ Whiff of Joy Candy

The new Elisabeth Bell autumn stamps are on pre-sale at Whiff of Joy! And Katarina is giving away 2 sets...... hope to be one of the lucky girls!!

I ordered the Spring kit and have so much fun playing with it. I never showed above card I think, so now is just the right time to show how cute Elisabeth's stamps are.

************ Bookmark-Twins

I love these girls!

Yesterday Monique came around for coffee and brought these 2 lovely Magnolia images. I immediately knew I wanted to make a bookmark and in the evening I thougth: well, why not make another one. One for me and one to give away... The page of Wuthering Heights is a gift from Mieke (she bought a copy on a fleamarket to use for scrapping, such a great idea!).
So, to go short, only the papers are mine LOL!

As the Summerholidays will start today at 12.00 there will not be a lot of crafting being done in the next couple of weeks, I presume. However, if the weather stays as it is now..... we might end up spending lots of time here in our craftroom...

************ Create4fun challenge July

For the first time I joined the Create4fun challenge. Love challenges and as I'm totally into cardmaking right now they make me just go on and on and on .... LOL!
I papers I used are from Theresa Collins, probably the last card as I use it all the time and the image was a gift (Thx!) and is from Magnolia.
The sentiment is: te laat -> too late in English..... I tend to forget birthdays every once in a while :)

********** challenge Sugar Bowl No 14 Judy's sketch

For Judy's sketch I chose this lovely stamp and I decided to go for bright & bold this time . The 'please include' option is sparkle and therefore I added the stones and painted the pink cardstock with Making Memories Tickled Pink.

********** Copic Creations challenge: brunette hair

Back to the seventies!

The Copic Creations Challenge was all about how to create a natural looking brunette.... I did my best with this lovely Gorjuss girl and used various shades of brown (E51 milky white, E31 brick beige, E35 chamois and E57 light walnut).

I decided to make a card with a 70-s look, just because I could colour her stockings in the same colours as the striped paper, LOL!

********** Little Shop of Sketches sketch No 40

Finally got around to making this page, based upon the sketch made by Tania Leigh from Little Shop of Sketches. She makes beautiful sketches and they are really easy and fun to work with! Have to say that I gave my own interpretation to it, as the sketch was meant for 1 large photo and I wanted to use these 4 small ones.

********** Gorjuss card

My fav Gorjuss stamp.... still, but the 3rd set is about to be released :).
This card I left blank to have one available for any occasion and those Theresa Collins papers are leftovers from a workshop and they are just gorgeous. Each and every one of them!

Wanted to make a scrapbookpage but after school I sat down with the boys who wanted to craft after being in the sun all day (special dance workshop day at School) and instead of the scrapbookpage this card came out of my hands. Don't know what got in to me lately - I'm all into cardmaking!

*************Cowgirl card: Howdy!

Last week I received the Lucky Bag I ordered from Funky Kits, containing o.a. this sweet cowgirl. Love her!
(btw the lucky bag is a very good deal for beginning stampers)

The other sweet stamps will have to wait a while as I want to join in the sketch challenge of Little Shop of Sketches again (has been quite a few months so it's about time!).....

just because I know how it works...

Here's another one.... just because I know how it works :)
This card I made last week, when Monique and I came together to have coffee and do some crafting.... love that!
It's a card for my the teacher of DS#2 to give on his last schoolday. Timely isn't it? But still have 2 more cards to go before 11th July for DS#1, as he has 2 teachers this year....

Sugar Bowl challenge No 13..... my very first post!

Sugar Bowl challenge No 13

* * *

My very first post on my newly made blog..... WOW!

I called my blog: 4 seasons in 1 day. Want to know why? I'll tell you. This blog will mostly be about the cards and scrapbook layouts I make. And I have absolutely no problem with creating a page about a poolparty when it's November or making a X-mas card in the middle of Summer LOL!!

Furthermore it's the title of one of my fav songs by Crowded House..... and nearly the one possible name still available in 'bloggie land' !!

I created a card for Sugar Nellie's Sugar Bowl challenge No 13. There was a sketch to follow and a so-called Must-use item which was Craft. The latter was absolutely no problem as I use lots of craft in my cards and layouts - love it!
